Facebook acquista Instagram per un miliardo di dollari
E’ di qualche ora fà la conferma dei rumors che parlavano dell’acquisto di Instagram da parte di Facebook per 1 miliardo di dollari.La notizia è stata confermata qualche minuto fa sia sul blog ufficiale di Instagram e sia sul profilo Facebook di Mark Zuckerberg tramite una nota.

Ecco le parole del CEO di Instagram :
“When Mike and I started Instagram nearly two years ago, we set out to change and improve the way the world communicates and shares. We’ve had an amazing time watching Instagram grow into a vibrant community of people from all around the globe. Today, we couldn’t be happier to announce that Instagram has agreed to be acquired by Facebook.
Every day that passes, we see more experiences being shared through Instagram in ways that we never thought possible. It’s because of our dedicated and talented team that we’ve gotten this far, and with the support and cross-pollination of ideas and talent at a place like Facebook, we hope to create an even more exciting future for Instagram and Facebook alike.
It’s important to be clear that Instagram is not going away. We’l be working with Facebook to evolve Instagram and build the network. We’ll continue to add new features to the product and find new ways to create a better mobile photos experience.
The Instagram app will still be the same one you know and love. You’ll still have all the same people you follow and that follow you.You’ll still be able to share to other social networks. And you’ll still have all the other features that make the app so fun and unique.
We’re psyched to be joining Facebook and are excited to build a better Instagram for everyone.”
Questa invece la dichiarazione rilasciata dal CEO di Facebook :
“Sono eccitato nel condividere questa notizia. Per anni ci siamo concentrati sulla costruzione della miglior esperienza da offrirvi nella condivisione delle immagini con i vostri amici e parenti. Ora potremo lavorare ancor più strettamente con il team Instagram per offrirvi anche la migliore esperienza nel condividere bellissime foto scattate col cellulare con persone in base ai vostri interessi. Riteniamo che queste differenti esperienze di completino reciprocamente. Ma per farlo bene, dobbiamo essere consapevoli dell’importanza di conservare la forza e le caratteristiche di Instagram e di costruire su di esse piuttosto che integrare tutto in Facebook. Ecco perché siamo impegnati a far crescere Instagram in modo indipendente. Milioni di persone in tutto il mondo amano la app di Instagram e il marchio ad essa associato, il nostro obiettivo è di aiutare quella app e quel marchio ad arrivare ad ancora più persone.”
Come probabilmente già saprete Instagram è da qualche giorno disponibile sul Play Store e si spera che questa acquisizione da parte del colosso dei social network apporti ulteriori migliorie ad un meccanismo già di per se ben oliato, oltre ovviamente all’uso gratuito per tutti. Voi cosa ne pensate?
